CHICAGO, Ill. and PALO ALTO, Calif. — July 19, 2010 — Ephox, a leading provider of software for upgrading the web production experience, today announced the next version of WebRadar at the IBM Portal Excellence Conference. With WebRadar 2.0, companies gain critical insights into their Web Content Management (WCM) systems to improve the productivity of website authors and administrators.
Building on its track record in web authoring software and successful partnership with IBM, Ephox has developed a flexible reporting solution for IBM® Lotus® Web Content Management. WebRadar enables IBM Lotus Web Content Management customers to analyze workflow processes and resolve issues before they become problems. The version 2.0 release brings new report customization options and an improved look and feel.
“Managing and publishing content, both internally and externally is becoming every organization’s second business and it is therefore increasingly critical for corporate operations to gain insight into their enterprise content and publication processes.” said Ian Truscott, Senior Analyst with Gilbane Group, a division of Outsell Inc. “Identifying inefficiencies, like process bottlenecks and obsolete content is not something we’ve found to be a strength of content management systems today, yet this level of reporting is essential for organizations to understand the performance of their content driven business activities.”
WebRadar 2.0 includes new reporting capabilities and metrics for more efficient website management. Out-of-the-box reporting combines with new customization features to let administrators find information based on content metadata. WebRadar can determine which author is assigned to content, find outdated content, and expose publishing bottlenecks. Reports can then be saved and exported to Microsoft® Excel for further analysis. A new dashboard interface puts critical information at the fingertips of administrators.
“Organizations have looked to analytics software to provide information on how automated business processes are performing, but there are huge information gaps on web content production processes themselves that can lead to content inaccuracies and unmanageable sites,” said Tim Thatcher, Senior Vice President of Products and Strategy for Ephox. “With WebRadar, Ephox is leading the way in providing metrics on the WCM system itself, which will enable organizations to identify and solve issues, while increasing site accuracy and relevancy."
Additional WebRadar features include a multi-edit wizard to easily make changes such as reassigning content authoring tasks, updating content expiration dates, adjusting permissions, or extending web campaigns. Interactive charts provide at-a-glance insights into WCM processes, helping administrators visualize content in the WCM while easily drilling down into relevant data. Specific changes can then be made with the new single edit option in the editing interface. With WebRadar, administrators can monitor web projects at every stage of development, utilizing essential information gained from reports and metrics that deliver successful websites.
